Applying to be a tutor with SLT

We operate as a Tuition Provider, and not an Agency. This means:

1. The families you work with remain our clients, and not yours. We contract your teaching skills as part of the overall service we provide to families – you supply these services to us and we then supply them onwards to our clients. You have no direct financial arrangement with the families you work for.
2. We have more stringent business terms and safeguarding provisions than many other companies, and a highly selective application process. We typically take on one in ten of the tutors who apply to us each year.
3. The process to be represented by us includes safeguarding checks, referencing and an in person interview.

We are looking for tutors with three key qualities:

1. Academic high fliers; with a minimum of a 2:1 undergraduate degree
2. Proven tuition experience; having delivered at least 100 hours of tuition to a wide range of students, demonstrating empathy and passion for your subject
3. The ability to commit for at least one academic year.

You must also be able to provide one employment reference and one academic reference. We do not accept references from relatives, or previous clients. We appreciate this may exclude many excellent tutors.
