For Cambridge placements, tutors help students make the most of their ‘My Cambridge Application’ (formerly known as the SAQ). All the tutors we introduce are Oxbridge educated and many have themselves been on the interviewing panel or admissions team. Our approach to Oxbridge Placements

The key to a successful Oxbridge application is well planned preparation.

Course and college selection

As a first step, we’ll help you make an informed decision about which course and college to apply for. We’ll then introduce a specialist Oxbridge admissions tutor to help your child with their Oxford or Cambridge entrance tests, including the TSA, LNAT, BMAT and CAT.

Researching and writing the personal statement

Tutors will help your child write an exemplary personal statement. This means a statement that doesn’t just ‘tick all the boxes’ – something Oxbridge admissions tutors see straight through – but instead brings out your child’s natural character, passions and refers to all their wider engagement beyond their sixth form academics. For Cambridge placements, tutors help students make the most of their ‘My Cambridge Application’.

Interview preparation

The next step is preparation for the infamous Oxbridge interview process. We always advise that students take several mock interviews with a range of tutors, to prepare them for the fact they might be interviewed by a number of colleges. Mock interviews are a wonderful opportunity to practice and get things wrong before it really matters. They’re also a great chance to pick up some helpful tricks for the big day – like the tactical drink of water to give yourself time to think.
