I specialise in a range of subjects including English, Maths, History, Science, Classics, Geography, 11+, ISEE, IB, SAT and A – Level preparation. I also provide mentoring as well as general study support and homework assistance in addition to unique projects such as Bat Mitzvah speeches and interview techniques. I have worked with various students, including those with SEN Dyslexia and ADHD. Having a wide range of teaching experience including classroom, one-to-one and group settings, I have the ability to determine the best approach with each student so that their lessons with me are tailored to their individual needs. I generally employ the Socratic Method and aim to teach students how to learn independently. If you ask the parents of my previous students, I think they would say that my ability to bond with their child and act as a buffer during the teenage years is extremely useful; however, my students would say my ability to make learning fun and stress-free while getting them to achieve their personal best is why they enjoy working with me.
I am a professional educator with American teaching qualifications and over a decade of experience. In addition to teaching at local colleges and universities, I write curriculum and design various educational projects both in Europe and America. I specialise in discreet, bespoke tutoring and home-school students- including mainstream SEN, international students and those seeking admission into US universities alongside dozens of students who need regular homework help, test prep and entrance exams tuition.

“I had the good fortune of hiring Candace to tutor my then-16 year-old daughter, Sasha, in her IB level classes. She went on to patiently tutor all three of my daughters, ages 16, 14 and 10 through two years of the United Nations International School.
Candace was a steady force, arriving two or three afternoons a week, while I went through chemo and the girls went a bit wild. Candace not only tutored, she kept everyone on schedule and watched over homework when I was unable to do so but also served as a mentor to my girls during the rough teen years.
My 15 year-old, Zarina, just chimed in, “she doesn’t tell you the information, she makes you understand it so it makes sense.” She immediately rounded Sasha back up when she started procrastinating and broke up distracting squabbles amongst the three. Candace’s strength is humanities and she taught all the girls to write well-organized analytical essays. Their grades and confidence immediately improved. She also helped Sasha through the college application process, from selecting colleges to keeping track of the deadlines and putting together all the pieces required in the application. With Candace’s help, Sasha was accepted to a remarkable number of highly competitive colleges, though she finally decided on the Rhode Island School of Design.
I would recommend Candace highly in helping even the most intractable child achieve confidence and success academically.”
Will (17yrs) “I thought you might like to know that I got an A and am off to Winchester University in September!
I’m quite sure that I couldn’t have so much as passed without your help and advice; plus, my writing skills have been forever improved by your expert tips! Thanks so much for all your help.”
“My son was withdrawn and disengaged from learning, after your help I cannot believe the boy he has become. Not only is he happier and well adjusted but he is enjoying his new school. We couldn’t have done it without you”
“Candace has a way of bringing out the best in a child and making them enjoy preparing for often stressful exams. I have to admit that she helped keep me sane during the application process”
