About Me

I would describe myself as a patient and student-centred tutor, who is able to tailor each lesson to the exact needs and requirements of the student whom I have the pleasure of working with. I believe that all students are highly capable of progressing significantly when given the chance to work in a highly supportive environment such as the one that I provide. Parents will be sure to notice a significant improvement in not only their children’s Mathematics skills, but also in their level of confidence across various subjects and in their daily life.

I make use of several techniques which I have gained throughout my teaching career such as scaffolding strategies, where I approach complex topics from the foundational level and gradually introduce new levels so that the student is able to grasp the key links between each level and hence have a strong support when solving a difficult problem.

I aim to instil a feeling of self-accomplishment and self-realisation within all my students through a mix of interactive teaching and guided practice, followed by encouraging them to employ independent thinking – allowing them to confidently solve more challenging problems when faced by them.

Recent tuition

Key Stage 2 Maths (SATS Preparation)

I supported this Year 6 student in the lead-up to their SATs. The student lacked confidence and had gaps in grammar and basic numeracy. Through weekly sessions over four months, I helped boost their skills and confidence. The student exceeded expectations in their Maths SATs.

GCSE Maths (AQA)

This student needed support with foundation tier Maths. Over six months, we focused on building number fluency and confidence in worded problems. I used real-life examples and practice questions to boost understanding. The student progressed from a grade 3 to a grade 5.

GCSE Maths (Edexcel)

This student had recently moved to the UK and needed to catch up on key GCSE topics. Through structured weekly sessions over eight months, we filled gaps in algebra, geometry, and statistics. The student’s confidence grew significantly, and they achieved a grade 8 in their final exam.

A Level Maths (Edexcel)

I tutored this student in A Level Maths for one academic year. The student had specific learning needs (SEN) and struggled with abstract concepts. I used step-by-step methods and visual aids to build confidence. With regular weekly sessions, the student progressed from a grade D to achieving an A in their final exams.

A Level Maths (OCR)

I supported this high-achieving student who aimed for an A* but was stuck at a B due to exam technique issues. Over nine months, we focused on problem-solving and past paper analysis. They went on to achieve an A* and accepted an offer from Warwick University.

A-Level Further Maths (Edexcel)

This Further Maths student was performing well in class but struggled to reach their target grade. Our sessions focused on strengthening conceptual understanding and applying ideas across different topics rather than memorising methods. By the end of the course, their performance became far more consistent, leading to an A* grade and an offer from Imperial College London.

Hobbies

I enjoy traveling and cooking because they let me explore new cultures and express creativity. Traveling opens my mind to different ways of life, while cooking allows me to try new flavours and create meals I can share with others. Both hobbies bring joy and help me connect with people and experiences in meaningful ways.
