About Me

My tutoring approach is consistently individualised, adaptable and student focused. I take the time to understand each student’s learning style and academic goals, offering guidance and support, even when they are unsure about what they need help with. I prioritise building a solid foundation by breaking down complex ideas into clear and manageable concepts that can be applied.

While every student benefits from different strategies, my sessions are always interactive and engaging- whether we’re revising content or working through practice questions. With that, I always encourage questions and curiosity throughout the session. I found this develops deeper understand and highlights real world applications of the subject. My students often find this approach enjoyable and empowering.

In terms of methodology, I guide students through exam questions and teach content step by step, which many students find extremely useful. I also share useful resources, summarise key concepts and tailor support based on subject, curriculum and goals. Moreover, if a student shows particular interest in a topic, I am happy to set extension work to encourage independent exploration, to give their learning meaning.

A core part of my educational philosophy is shaped by my own past struggles with academic confidence, which allows me to deeply empathise with students and support them in building their own self confidence. I aim to equip them with the mindset and tools to take ownership of their learning, not just in our sessions but throughout their academic journey.

Recent tuition

GCSE Combined Science Foundation (AQA)

Over two years, I supported this student across all three sciences at foundation level. She initially struggled with confidence and was working at a grade 3. With a focus on clear explanations and making science more relatable, she achieved grade 5s across all science subjects. She was accepted into her desired Art & Design college, and I now tutor her younger brother.

GCSE Triple Science (AQA)

This student was aiming for grade 6–7s to pursue A-Level Biology and Psychology but was working at a grade 4. Although academically bright, she found it difficult to stay focused and work independently. Over the course of a year, we built consistency and engagement in sessions, and she achieved 6s and 7s across all sciences. Despite initially disliking science, she went on to study Biology and Psychology at A-Level and later returned for further Biology tutoring.

AS Chemistry (OCR)

I am currently tutoring this student in OCR AS Chemistry, with occasional support in Biology. When we began a few months ago, she was achieving consistent Ds in class tests. Through structured topic reviews, exam technique coaching, and confidence-building, she is now consistently working at a B and on track for an A in her final exams.

A-Level Psychology Resit (AQA) & Personal Statement Support

This student was on a gap year and feeling anxious about resitting A-Level Psychology and submitting her personal statement. We worked intensively over two months, including late-night sessions to meet tight UCAS deadlines. She improved from a D to an A in Psychology and gained a place at Queen Mary University of London to study Actuarial Science.

A Level Biology and Psychology (AQA)

I have been tutoring this student since the start of Year 12 and she is now due to sit her final A-Level exams. When we began, she was working at C/D grades and lacked confidence in both subjects. Over two years of consistent, tailored support, she has progressed to achieving high Bs and As. I also helped her with her personal statement, and she has already received three conditional offers to study BSc Neuroscience at university.

Hobbies

Outside of tutoring, I am interested in health and fitness, so much so I did complete a personal training qualification, to expand my interest. I love going to the gym and exercise, it helps me stay focused, disciplined, and mentally refreshed.

I also enjoy listening to podcasts, especially ones about self-development and science, and I’m always discovering and listening to new music, which helps me unwind and stay inspired.
