About Me
I’ve learnt that, over my years of tutoring, different students learn in very different ways. I’ve developed numerous techniques, tailored to students’ needs to help personalise their learning journey.
My approach has been described as kind, empathetic, yet also firm in its approach to achieving results and creating long-lasting positive benefits to my students. I use a range of personally curated materials, combined with exam-specific knowledge, in order to give my students the best tuition possible.

IGCSE Mathematics (Edexcel)
I tutored a Year 9 student (MGS) through until their recently completed Year 11 exams. Whilst the student was clearly intelligent, he detested Maths and it was a really evident gap in an otherwise solid attainment sheet. Over the years, I helped build a love for the subject, he’s performed fantastically well and is confident in now taking the subject forward for Advanced Level study. I’m very proud of him and the effort he’s also put in!
IGCSE Geography (Edexcel)
I recently taught a student from University College School for Geography. He was doing well, and enjoyed the subject but just couldn’t *quite* break into those top grades! We managed to tailor an approach to his weak spots to make sure that he felt most confident in his exams! He ended up getting a 9 which was a really solid result in the few months we had together!
OCR Geography
This student was academically flying in every subject BUT Geography! The subject really presented a rare blind spot. We moved his grade from a 4 in Geography up to a 9 in 5 months! We focused mostly on essay writing and longer written case study work. Really impressed with his determination and commitment, and fairly rewarded!
IGCSE Physics
I tutored a student for two years from Year 9 to Year 11 and brought her grade up in Physics from what was then a low C, up to a A*. Really solid work from her to put in good effort and maintain concentration to the concepts and the ideas we covered in our sessions. I believe she’s gone on to Oxford to study Natural Science which I’m really proud of!
A-Level Geology (Eduqas/WJEC)
This student’s geology teacher had left the school the year prior and they had been undergoing teaching via the schools geography teacher. This was therefore one of my biggest challenges yet! To take a student from a predicted E, with 4 months to go until her Year 13 exam. We managed to in fact, amazingly, just grab an A, which all things considered, is one of my top achievements as a tutor!
Hobbies
In my spare time I usually learn languages – currently Italian, French and German. I enjoy hiking and climbing, and I also play the saxophone and lacrosse!
I also play a few video games (maybe too much!) which I often bond with my students over. It’s nice to have shared hobbies to help build that personal connection and I think mine cover quite a range! My hobbies challenge me and I really enjoy the feeling of progressing my abilities with each of them.
