About Me

My tutoring approach is student-centred, supportive and adaptable to each child’s unique needs and learning style. I focus on creating a positive and encouraging environment where students feel confident to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow.

I begin by identifying any gaps in understanding and tailoring lessons to reinforce core concepts while building new skills step by step. I use a mix of structured explanations, guided practice and interactive activities to keep sessions engaging and effective. Additionally, I incorporate techniques like active recall, spaced repetition and visual aids to support long term retention and understanding.

Flexibility is key – I adjust my pace and methods based on how the student learns best, whether they need extra support or are ready for a challenge. Above all, I aim to build not just academic success, but also independence and a genuine love of learning.

Recent tuition

7+ Preparation (St Paul’s)
I worked with this student for six months leading up to his 7+ assessments for St Paul’s. We focused on three key areas: his English dictation and comprehension, challenging Maths problems and Verbal/Non-Verbal Reasoning skills, all while building his confidence for the group tasks and interview. With bespoke practice and engaging collaborative exercises, he breezed through the Stage 1 assessments, secured an offer and has since thrived in the school’s vibrant, fast-paced environment.

7+ Preparation (Westminster)
I tutored this Year 1 student for 8 months in the run up to the Westminster Under School 7+ assessments. One of our main priorities was on improving his English as his writing skills were notably basic. Over this period, the student honed his skills in comprehension, grammar, spelling and creative writing – building imaginative stories, descriptive language, varied structures and thoughtful responses to unseen texts. He secured a place at Westminster Under School, where he has since settled in brilliantly and continued to flourish.

11+ Entrance Exam – All Subjects (Francis Holland School, Sloane Square)

I supported this student over 8 months as she prepared for the 11+ exams to Francis Holland School (Sloane Square). Our lessons focused on strengthening comprehension, creative writing and mathematical problem-solving, as well as boosting confidence in Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. She was offered a place and settled in well academically, with positive feedback from her teachers.

11+ Entrance Exam – All Subjects (Wimbledon High School)

This student was preparing for entrance to Wimbledon High School. Over a 6 month period, we worked on English and Maths exam techniques, as well as developing her verbal reasoning and interview confidence. With consistent practice and tailored support, she was offered a place and felt proud of her performance during the assessments and interview.

11+ and 13+ Entrance Exam – English, Maths, VR and NVR (Harrodian)

I worked with two siblings preparing for entrance to Harrodian: one for 11+, the other for 13+. Each had different learning styles, so I adapted the approach accordingly: using games and visual strategies for the younger student and structured timed tasks for the older. Both students were successful in securing offers and grew significantly in confidence throughout the process.

13+ Entrance Exam – English, Maths, VR and NVR (Wellington College)

I worked with this student over a 10 month period in preparation for the 13+ entrance exams to Wellington College. We focused on building strong exam technique across English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, while also developing the student’s confidence and independent thinking. The student received an offer from Wellington and reported feeling calm and well-prepared on exam day.

13+ Entrance Exam – English, Maths, VR and NVR (Harrow)

This student was preparing for 13+ entrance to Harrow and needed support particularly in English comprehension and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Over the course of a year, we worked on building exam resilience, vocabulary, and time management. The student successfully gained a place at Harrow and showed marked improvement in written expression and logical reasoning.

GCSE History

I have extensive experience providing GCSE History tuition across the Edexcel, AQA, and OCR exam boards, tailoring my approach to meet the specific requirements and assessment objectives of each. I focus on making complex historical events and themes accessible and engaging, using exam-board specific resources, mark schemes and past papers to build both content knowledge and exam technique. My lessons emphasise critical thinking, source analysis and structured essay writing, helping students to confidently approach each question type. By combining clear explanations with targeted practice, I support students in achieving strong results while also fostering a genuine interest in the subject.

Hobbies

In my spare time, I love taking ballet classes, reading, and learning new languages. Ballet is a great way for me to stay active and focused – it also teaches patience and discipline, which I bring into my tutoring. I’m an avid reader and enjoy sharing that love of books with students, helping them discover how enjoyable and rewarding reading can be. I’m also very interested in linguistics and enjoy exploring how language shapes the way we think and understand different cultures. This curiosity helps me bring a broader, more thoughtful perspective to my teaching, and allows me to connect with students in meaningful ways.
