About Me
My approach to tutoring is grounded in intellectual rigour, adaptability, and clear communication, shaped by over a decade of experience as Director of a high-end tutoring business and my academic journey through physics, law, and taxation. I tailor each session to the individual student’s goals and learning style, combining subject expertise with practical techniques such as structured problem-solving, Socratic questioning, and formative feedback. Whether teaching complex legal doctrines or abstract scientific principles, I aim to foster both confidence and critical thinking. My experience supervising MSc students to Distinction at Imperial College London has taught me to be responsive, flexible, and results-driven — qualities I bring to every tutoring relationship.
Recent tuition
KS3–KS5 Science and Maths
I supported this student in Maths and Science from KS3 through KS5 while they attended a private school in Auckland. Tutoring was online over four years, focusing on critical thinking and exam preparation across curricula. The student later secured a place at Cambridge Medical School.
GCSE Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
I tutored this student (Eton College) in all four sciences and Maths at GCSE level over two years. He was bright but needed help with exam confidence and independent problem-solving. I focused on structuring written responses and refining time management. He later achieved top grades and was admitted to Harvard.
A-Level Maths
This student (St Mary’s School) sought support in A-Level Maths over 18 months. We focused on the technicals of Statistics and Pure Maths. Through weekly intensive sessions, her performance steadily improved, and she gained admission to Harvard to study Computer Science.
A-Level Maths
I supported this student (Dulwich College) in A-Level Maths for one academic year, focusing on exam technique and conceptual clarity. He had strong natural ability but lacked structure in his approach. Our sessions helped him build systematic methods for tackling problems. He progressed significantly and was accepted into a US liberal arts college.
A-Level Maths and Physics
I tutored this international student online for A-Level Maths and Physics while he studied in New Delhi. Over one year, we focused on mechanics and electricity, as well as proof and modelling. With targeted guidance and practice, he achieved the required grades and went on to study Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh.
A-Level Physics
This student (St Alban’s High School for Girls) received weekly physics tuition in Year 13 to support preparation for the Natural Sciences course at Cambridge. She had a solid foundation but needed help applying theory to unfamiliar problems. I coached her through multiple past papers and interview-style questions. She secured a place at Cambridge with excellent results.
A-Level Maths and Physics
I taught this bilingual student (originally from Moscow) online in A-Level Maths and Physics over 18 months. Although highly motivated, he lacked structured preparation for UK university entrance. I provided tailored content and exam-focused strategies. His results improved substantially, and he gained admission to Imperial College London to study Electrical Engineering.
A-Level Maths and Further Maths
I tutored this student remotely with aspirations to study abroad. The focus was on building fluency with A-Level Maths and Further Maths content, particularly in pure and mechanics. With targeted MAT coaching and university preparation, the student transferred to Eton College and later secured a place at Oxford to study Mathematics.
Hobbies
Philosophy—I studied Philosophy at the University of Cambridge and I enjoy the abstract fundamental thinking and reading about life, the universe, and human behaviour.
Chess—I played chess competitively when I was 11 and I enjoy the game today.
Running—I am running 38 marathons across Europe for an UK Armed Forces charity.
