"Sam was a brilliant teacher, very calm, thorough and driven. William also had to repeat two AS Maths papers this year which Sam covered meticulously by going over numerous past papers. This enabled him to achieve extremely high levels in these two papers. He helped William focus on his maths and gave him the confidence to achieve an overall ‘A’ grade in his final exam. I would be very happy to recommend him as a brilliant tutor."

I have 11 GCSE, 4 A Level and 2 AS Level qualifications including A* in GCSE English, Maths and all three Sciences.
I have tutored students privately for well over 1000 hours over the course of the last ten years. This has included both online and in person tuition. I have experience tutoring all sciences, mathematics, 11+ and 13+ at all levels and for a wide range of ages and abilities. In the last two years I have tutored KS3 science and mathematics, GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, GCSE Mathematics and Additional Mathematics, both IB and A level Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics as well as Common Core Mathematics.
I am completely up to date with all changes from the old and new curriculums including the ‘new style’ 9-1 GCSE’s in science and mathematics, linear A levels, new IB specifications and changes to the IB, A Level and GCSE courses as a result of Covid-19 measures.
As both a teacher and a tutor I have taught a wide range of students including students who found science and mathematics challenging and students who had a passion and flair for these subjects but craved a wider and deeper level of scientific knowledge. Catering to individual students, encouraging them and getting them to flourish is something that I take great pride in.
In the last year I have tutored KS3 science and mathematics, GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, GCSE Mathematics and Additional Mathematics, as well as both IB and A level Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics.
As well as a significant amount of specialist and subject tuition I also have experience in helping students build their confidence and improve on their exam and study technique and working with students who have individual needs. I am currently tutoring a student who has been off of school for a long time and am helping her transition and reintegration into full time education, which often involves confidence building work and work specially adapted to her needs. I tutor a student exclusively for Physics exam technique and another for developing the ‘IB mindset’.
I tutored a grammar school student for all three sciences and Mathematics as she transitioned into her GCSE studies. When we began tuition confidence and exam preparation were a big concern for her, but after I worked with her on some revision and exam techniques and helped her to organise her study time her confidence has started to grow and she scored over 90% in her end of year exams.
I tutored several students who were transitioning into secondary school with various 11+, skills tests and study skills sessions. All of my students have similarly shown progress since I have started to tutor them and I also work with several students on long term revision strategies and exam technique to maintain their current high grades.
Hobbies and Interests
My hobbies include reading; both fiction and non-fiction, socialising with friends and family, cooking and gardening.
“Samuel helped my daughter through her 11+. He was very polite and put my daughter at ease, which was especially important for me as a parent as Chloe is a very shy child and anxious. He remained professional at all times. She went on to pass and now attends a very good Grammar School. She will be heading in to Year 10 this September and I have recently called upon him again to help her over the summer to assist with all 3 Sciences and Maths. Samuel is a very polite and professional young man and certainly somebody I would be happy to recommend.”

“He is very helpful and always works at my pace. If we need to slow down he does and he always makes sure that the work is appropriate and challenging.”
