"Hannah is an extremely helpful tutor who always comes prepared to each lesson. Even in instances where exams and interviews were coming up in short notice, she always provided me with extensive resources and could explain topics and concepts in a very clear and coherent manner. I cannot thank Hannah enough for her assistance and I really look forward to continuing lessons with her."

I enjoy a more holistic approach to tutoring, whereby I will spend the first few sessions analysing to understand the student’s learning technique. Whether this is visual or auditory, I will utilise this information to sculpt our future lessons to maximise the short hours we will spend together. Further, I will set out a rough plan working towards goals such as exams, interviews or internal assessments, but will allow flexibility within this to ensure we do not rush any topics more than needed, focusing on fundamental understanding. I like the sessions to be led by the students as much as myself, so will often set a few questions as homework to be picked up on in the next lesson. My lessons are often question based, allowing me to spot any gaps in knowledge where we can then dive deeper into the theory behind those specific topics. This ensures that we do not spend too much time on topics that the student already understands well.
I can provide support for most Imperial College London entry interviews, as well as Oxbridge Biology interviews.
Biology, Chemistry and Physics GCSE (Edexcel IGCSE)
A reached out to me as he was grasping the content but struggled with identifying the topics exam questions were relating to. Having started early, A and I worked weekly on past exam papers, enabling them to perfect their exam technique and understand the aim of each question. In the end, A achieved an A* and proceeded to continue his further studies in sciences.
I worked with C biweekly towards their Biology IA. C was struggling with experimental design and statistical analysis of results. Through multiple fundamental lessons on experimental design, C was able to design and execute their own experiment generating enough results for statistical use.
I worked with D triweekly leading up to their final IB Chemistry exams. D was very good at picking up theory but struggled in applying their knowledge to exam style questions. Churning through past papers and unpacking what the questions asked for, D was able to achieve an entire mark above their predicted as their final grade.
Biology, Chemistry and Maths IB
E was searching for some extra support in their IB Biology, Chemistry and Maths subjects. With the bigger objective of enhancing their scope of interdisciplinary understanding above exams, we spent an hour together each week talking about overlapping subject topics. This was a great way to prepare for further study, which can often be more abstract.
A Level Biology
Student A reached out to me in their second year of A Levels, hoping to get on track early with exam preparation. We met once per week leading up to exams, working on perfecting exam techniques and catching any gaps in knowledge. Student A further went on to pursue medicine at university, so during the year we tailored content to help them with their medicine degree and fuel curiosity. Student A achieved A* in her A Level Biology exam in the end.
Chemical Engineering admissions interview
I helped B for an admissions interview for Imperial College London in Chemical Engineering. We had sessions every other day for a week leading up to the interview, engaging in thoughtful discussions and uncovering theories in Chemistry. B says he felt confident and calm when engaging in the interview, and received an offer following the interview.
Hobbies and Interests
I am a huge ocean lover and spend most of my weekends sailing along the south coast of England. When time allows, I love exploring the underwater world through scuba diving, and am currently working towards becoming a divemaster! Marine conservation is very important to me, and probably what prompted me to study Biology at university in the first place. Academically, I am interested in synthetic biology, which is the interdisciplinary study of engineering biological systems. Alongside this, I thoroughly follow the financial markets and hope to combine these two fields in my future career.
