“I only wish we found Hannah earlier. We have tried multiple Maths tutors, none have been able to understand my son as well as Hannah. She got him through his exams (Maths and Economics A-Levels), and I would recommend her to anyone who needs support.”

My specialist subjects are Maths, Physics, and Economics.
Being able to quickly recognise how a student learns – and tailoring my teaching style – is a skill I believe enables my success as a tutor. And this one-to-one approach is exactly why students thrive with tutoring, alongside or often instead of a classroom format. With all my students, I aim to build their self-confidence and self-belief, and in many cases, I am as much a mentor as I am a tutor.
My experience spans, not only students from year five to year thirteen, but also students with a varying degree of academic and organisational ability. I recognise when a student needs support structuring their revision, for example, and that this might be why they aren’t reaching their potential, as opposed to their academic ability. And I’ve worked with students with a number of learning challenges, such as dyspraxia, dyslexia, and ADHD.
Please see below for a sample of my tuition experience:
OCR A-Level Maths – I tutored a year 13 student leading up to and during his A-level exams (in Economics too). When I began working with him, he was considering not sitting the exams at all, due to nerves and pressure. Not only did he attend and get through the exams, he reported that they went much better than expected.
Edexcel IGCSE Maths – I tutored a year 11 student for 3 months leading up to her GCSE exams. She suffered from a total lack of confidence in Maths. I turned this around, she went into the exam feeling more than capable after the work we did together ended in her achieving an A grade in past papers.

Cambridge IGCSE Physics – I tutor a year 10 student who has been struggling to understand physics in class. After working with me, not only did he achieve the top result in his mock paper, he is considering closing physics for A-Level.
A-Level Economics (Edexcel) – I have just completed a residential in Majorca tutoring an intensive Economics A level course
Cambridge Economics Admissions – I have designed and am currently delivering an independent Cambridge Economics Admissions Assessment course for A level students hoping to study Economics at Cambridge. The course is aimed at developing students’ problem-solving, reasoning, and and mathematical skills.
Economics 16+ – I am tutoring a student who is applying for the 16+ online whilst she is based in China over the summer (Wycombe Abbey)

“Thank goodness for Hannah. My daughter finds Maths a difficult subject and despite help from her school was beginning to lose confidence and was beginning to panic about forthcoming GCSE’s. Hannah gently gave her back her confidence and gave her some good tips on how to recognise the methods required for different problem solving. She gave me relevant feedback after every couple of sessions. She was a pleasure to have in our home and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.” – Simone (parent)
“I only wish we found Hannah earlier. We have tried multiple Maths tutors, none have been able to understand my son as well as Hannah. She got him through his exams (Maths and Economics A-Levels), and I would recommend her to anyone who needs support.” –Victoria, (parent)
“Hannah is very personable, both the boys really like her and relate to her. She is always on time and easy to contact. On a couple of occasions she has stayed for a bit longer to finish a topic properly. A couple of weeks ago one of the boys was struggling with a concept so she did a practical example (filling glasses with water to give the idea of volume). To see she was going the extra mile was great!”– Sophie (nanny)
“Hannah was really helpful in such a short space of time. She was very nice and made a subject I don’t like much more enjoyable.” – Hanni (tutee)
“Although he has always been very capable, my son was struggling to commit to his GCSE science revision and Hannah reignited his enthusiasm in the subjects and he became more motivated than ever. I would recommend her without question.” – David (parent)
“I would recommend Hannah, she helped make boring topics actually quite fun and I feel like I properly understood things.” – Arpita (student).
“All three of my girls love Hannah. She always goes above and beyond in terms of preparation for the tutorials and her enthusiastic and successful delivery.” – Catherine (parent)
