About Me
My teaching style is student-centred, supportive, and adaptive. I focus on understanding each student’s unique learning style, strengths, and challenges, then tailoring lessons to meet their individual needs. I break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps and encourage active participation through questioning, practice, and discussion. I aim to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. I like to use past paper questions as a tool of understanding a students understanding of topics, and also building confidence and developing exam technique.
Recent tuition
11+ Preparation (Maths)
I tutored a student for three months in preparation for the 11+ exam for entry to Latymer Upper School; although the student initially struggled with the maths section, they made rapid progress and ultimately succeeded in gaining admission.
Maths GCSE
A GCSE Maths student, studying at a state school in South West London, initially struggled with low confidence in the subject and received poor grades in her mock exams. After putting together a study schedule including weekly sessions, the student went on to achieve a grade 8 in her maths GCSE.
Physics A Level
I worked with a student, who at the start of Year 12, found Physics to be their weakest subject. However, through consistent effort and support, they improved significantly over the two-year A-level course, ultimately achieving an A grade in Physics and securing a place to study Engineering at UCL.
Physics A Level
An A-level Physics student at Eton, who initially lacked confidence in the subject, undertook intensive tutoring sessions (4-5 times a week), for several months leading up to the final exams. The student went on to achieve the required grade for entry into the University of Oxford.
Maths and Physics IB
I tutored an IB student based in Hong Kong for six months who had fallen behind in maths and physics due to the impact of COVID; through consistent support, we were able to get back on track, and the student successfully gained admission to their first-choice university in the UK, the University of Leeds.
Hobbies
I am a big fan of sports – regularly participating in tennis and golf. I love the feeling of competing in sports and the friendships and confidence it builds. I am an avid foodie and enjoy exploring new cuisines; both through eating out, travel and cooking at home.
