About Me

We all have different ways to learn. I believe the best tutoring method is the one that works better for the student. Learning languages can be challenging but also an amazing way to discover new cultures. In my experience, by using a mix of visual, reading, writing, and speaking approach you can achieve the best. The learning process requires patience, perseverance and interest. Tutoring is teamwork.

Recent tuition

Spanish GCSE

I tutored S in her GCSE Spanish level. We worked on the subject over a nine month period. S was a high-achieving student with a great passion for languages. Her goal was to achieve the top marks in her exams. We practised three times a week all the skills and we paid special attention to the speaking skills in order to boost her confidence. S is currently studying MFL abroad.

Spanish GCSE

I tutored AT in Spanish. We worked on the subject for over three years. AT is a great student, a very hard worker and committed to the learning process. AT has learning difficulties and is currently preparing for her Spanish GCSE Advanced level. In order to teach AT, I used different resources including visual and differentiated activities. Her main problem area was time management. I taught her how to complete the exam in the most effective way.

Spanish

I tutored R in Spanish. We worked on the subject for almost a two year period. R started with an A2 Spanish level and she became very fluent in Spanish. Her goal was to be able to use the Spanish language in her job to get promoted. R needed less than a year to achieve that goal but she decided to carry on with the tuition because it was a great way to keep practising in a formal environment. R achieved a B2-C1 level in a short period of time; she was a hard working student. Her main problem area was past tenses, but she loved learning grammar and I taught her how and when to use them through examples and visual activities.

Spanish – Speaking Skills (Business)

I tutored M in Spanish. We worked on the subject over a six month period. M was looking to improve her speaking skills in order to be able to carry on with her job in the international political sphere. Even though M was really good with her grammar skills, she needed support in her pronunciation and speaking rhythm. In addition, M wanted to learn cultural strategies and social skills in order to have a better approach to her job. We practised formal and colloquial speaking techniques and I taught her the cultural basis for Spain and Latin America. M achieved her goal in her job.

Literary Theory in Spanish

I taught a small group of Hispanic Philology students while I worked as a Lecturer at the University in Prague. I worked with them during one semester. I taught the lesson in Spanish and they learned how to analyse a literary text with different techniques. The group got A levels in their essays and final projects.

Hobbies

In my free time, I enjoy reading and travelling. I’m currently immersed in PhD research on the Language, Texts and Contexts Program at the University of Granada about Graphic Novel and Ancient Myths. This keeps me busy, but also gives me the opportunity to live new and great experiences.

Testimonials

“Hola Celeste, Just also wanted to say that you have been an amazing tutor, and I absolutely loved the lessons and the way you teach! As you are probably aware it was a rocky start with this course, and ever since you took over I have been able to enjoy the lessons a lot more. I have definitely learnt a lot and will continue to learn more Spanish (somehow!) 🙂 I wish you all the best with everything and, I hope you get to teach our next course!”
