I work a range of students on a daily or weekly basis. My students attend a mixture of private and state schools and some have learning difficulties (from mild dyslexia to severe ADHD). Each student had a unique educational goal i.e. 13+ entrance, re-sitting GCSEs or improving their study habits. On average, students taking formal examinations improve two grades during their time with me.
I held a network of expat clients (British, European, American and Australian), but also a cluster of VIP clients, including UAE royalty.

In Dubai I taught English Language and Literature as well as EFL to children of all ages. I also had a number a number of private clients for 11+ (English, Maths and Reasoning), 13+, Interview skills and History. My students came from a range of cultural and educational backgrounds and some had learning difficulties.
Provence, summer 2015: I spent this summer working privately with one family, helping prepare their two children Theodore and Gisele for 7+ and 11+ entrance to Sussex House and Wycombe Abbey respectively. The time was spilt between their estate in Devon and Provence, France. We covered a programme of English, Maths, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning and Interview Technique. The children made excellent progress over the sum-mer and are in an excellent position for their upcoming assessments.
Royal residential role – 11+ and 13+ : I was brought in as an 11+ and 13+ specialist to prepare the three children of a Saudi Sheikh for entrance to Le Rosey, a sought after Swiss boarding school. The family live in the Burj Khalifa, Dubai, so I was flown out to tutor them intensively in English, Reasoning and Interview Technique for a month. All three siblings (aged 8, 10 and 13 years old) received offers
ONLINE TUITION SUCCESS STORIES:
GCSE English – Flora who was predicted a C at GCSE English ultimately secured an A* grade.
11+ Entrance Exams – Three students secure entrance to St Paul’s, Cheltenham Ladies College and Lady Eleanor Holles School.
A Level Re-sits – James who was re-sitting his A Levels was accepted at the University of Edinburgh to read History and English.

11+ Exam Preparation with Harry (aged 10):
I worked with Harry over an 18 month period, preparing him for entrance to Latymer School. We had three lessons a week (English, Maths and Reasoning). I also scheduled in special Interview Skills lessons as the assessment day drew nearer.
Harry made strong progress over the course of tuition and showed great enthusiasm in his lessons with me. He successfully placed in the top 50 for Latymer, where he is greatly enjoying school life.
11+ Exam Preparation with Isabelle (10 years old):
Isabelle’s parents had always wanted her to go Lady Eleanor Holles School, but were aware that she did not naturally excel in English. I worked with Isabelle on her English, as well as Maths and Reasoning. Within a month of starting lessons Isabelle went up a whole level in her comprehension and two levels in her composition. Her ascent continued and she went on to display a real passion for English. She secured a place at Lady Eleanor Holles, much to her parents’ pleasure.
Long term 11+ and 13+ online support:
I was first introduced to Egor (Russian) in the run up to his 11+ assessment for a number of leading London day schools. We worked together on English, Maths, Reasoning and Interview Technique to secure offers from all the schools applied for. His parents later felt that he would benefit from a change of environment and attending a co-educational school, so at 13+ they decided to apply for Wellington College. Again, we worked together to thoroughly prepare him for the exams and assessment day. Egor is now happily settled at Wellington and we maintain our weekly lesson to ensure his academic attainment is kept in check.
IB English Literature and Language:
I have been working with Aryan online for four months helping to prepare him for his IB English Literature and Language exam. Aryan is a bright student with a particular gift for maths and the sciences, but struggles somewhat with English. Aryan spends his time between India and boarding school in the UK, so we have followed a flexible programme of online tutorials to accommodate his changing availability and schedule. By working through his key texts, past papers and mark schemes Aryan’s attainment has increased considerably. He is now facing his exams with skill and confidence in getting a good result.
IB Theatre Arts:
Isabella has a real passion for theatre and the performing arts; she loves being on stage. However, she has struggled with the academic side of the IB Theatre Arts course. We have worked together for over a year on strengthening her ability to write with the same amount of passion and clarity she performs with. By breaking down the plays she is studying them and analysing their characters/form/structure in detail she is now able to write with authority on the playwright’s intentions and ideas. Her teacher has noted her improvement and, as a result, raised her predicted grade for her forthcoming exams.
