Wilds Lodge School is a specialist therapeutic boarding and day school for pupils aged 5-19 years old with autistic spectrum condition and social, emotional and mental health needs. It is located across several sites in the beautiful countryside near to Empingham, Rutland.
Wellbeing & Pastoral Care
Wilds Lodge is a therapeutic school, for children with a diagnosis of autism and/or social, emotional and mental health needs. Therefore therapies are numerous and include drawing and talking therapy, music, art, dramatherapy etc. Boarding is arranged is small houses, by age, and each house has dedicated staff to help with the transition to and from school/boarding.
Wilds Lodge School caters for children with a diagnosis of autistic spectrum condition and/or social, emotional and mental health needs. Weekly boarding is offered to boys only, and girls are welcome to attend on a day school basis.

School staff focus heavily on ensuring that children feel settled and safe and pupils quickly start to develop socially, emotionally and educationally. The whole-school therapeutic approach enables young people to thrive and to better manage their emotional responses. They were named Boarding School of the Year in the TES Independent School Awards in 2020.
The school is a dedicated therapeutic provision hence numerous specially qualified therapeutic staff.
