4 Wetherby Gardens, London, SW5 0JN
Head: Ms Helen Milnes
Wetherby Kensington is situated at 4 Wetherby Gardens. Its red door leads into airy classrooms and a great view of the gardens. It is an independent, non-selective, pre-preparatory school for boys aged 4 to 8 years. Registration is recommended once the boy is born as places are limited in number. The parent can apply for a place in Wetherby Kensington and Wetherby School and movement between these schools is possible as they both follow the same curriculum and values. Both schools are run by the Alpha Plus Group which is the second largest private educational business in the UK.
Wetherby Kensington recognises the needs of each boy as an individual, supporting them as required, whether they are gifted, need extra help, or are in the happy majority. Reception starts as a place for fun, a good place for each child to develop with play progressing into language, literacy and numeracy. Hatching chicks and a visit from a therapy dog illustrate the breadth of resources on offer. Progressing through the school, boys are prepared for entrance exams for their next schools at 7+ and 8+. There is on-going assessment and a big emphasis on co-operation with parents.
