The Laurels is situated in Crystal Palace and attracts girls from all over South London, Chelsea and Kensington. There is a strong focus on achieving excellence in all areas of life and pupils achieve highly in public exams, while enjoying a wide range of sporting and co-curricular activities.

Notable Academic Facilities

The school places emphasis on allowing pupils to develop the computer skills vital for 21st century study and work, and girls regularly use Chromebooks. Various clubs run by departments across the curriculum encourage them to pursue their academic interests.

Wellbeing & Pastoral Care

A strong feature - every girl has a personal tutor who meets regularly with her, and with her parents, as well as a form tutor.

Advice For Parents

It is never too early to start building a relationship with your daughter's future school. Year 5 is a good time to start this process in earnest, when your daughter is beginning to show her strengths and interests. We suggest that you talk first to our very experienced Head of Admissions, who will be very happy to guide you through the process and give advice about next steps. We offer various events which allow girls to become acquainted with the school.

Typical Child

We believe firmly that every child is an individual. We want the girls in our care to develop the qualities of greatness that will allow them to achieve academic potential but also to develop in every other aspect of their lives. There is no 'typical' child at The Laurels, but families share a belief that parents are the first educators of their children and therefore work closely with their daughter's tutor over the years of senior school, to allow her to become the best version of herself, wherever life and opportunities may take her.

Highly Regarded For

The Laurels has a Catholic ethos and supports parents in their task as primary educators of their children. Families regard the school highly because of the excellent education which girls receive, allowing them to become truly well-rounded young women.

Leavers' Destinations

Most students go on to Russell Group Universities, with the first Oxbridge student this year, which is only the fourth year of a VI Form at The Laurels. A good number have gone on to study medical-based degrees.
