St Philip’s School is an independent, day school for boys aged 7-13. Located in Kensington, the school was founded in 1934 and housed in a red-brick Victorian townhouse, and is now considered a leading preparatory school for boys in central London.

The school is underpinned by the Roman Catholic faith, with a purpose to ‘aim for the higher gifts through joyfulness and kindness’. The school is small, with a maximum of 110 boys, though this allows for intimate class sizes. Priority admission is given to siblings.

Extra-curricular activities include Ancient Greek, LAMDA and Chess, and take place at lunchtimes and after school. The main sports at St Philip’s School are football, cricket, rugby and hockey. The school utilises the nearby facilities at Barn Elms Sports Trust, and swimming takes place at Fulham Pools.

All subjects are taught by specialist teachers, and the school is a Microsoft school thanks to their use of Microsoft’s education and business software. Leavers typically progress to the traditional leading boarding schools of Eton, Harrow and Winchester, whilst City of London Boys’ and Dulwich join them as the popular Day School destinations.
