St Peter’s School York is an independent co-educational school which has a 47 acre campus 10 minutes from York city centre. It was founded in 627 AD when Paulinus the Roman missionary was converting the Anglo-Saxons to Christianity. It has 3 sections: 2 to 8 years, 8 to 13 and 13 to 18. The 2 to 8 school was Pre-prep School of the Year and Independent School of the Year in the 2021 Times Educational Supplement awards. St Peter’s 8 to 13 provides for day and boarding pupils and it is the Choir School for York Minster, educating and training the choristers. The 13 to 18 school also includes day and boarding with a full 6 day plan for each week. About half the pupils come from abroad.

St Peter’s aims to nurture the whole person, bringing out the best in every child. To quote their aspiration “Learning goes far beyond the classroom at St Peter’s School, giving our children the keys for life and the confidence to turn them”.
