Wellbeing & Pastoral Care

Student mental health and well-being underpin our entire approach at Queen’s. In my view it is the most important thing we do – after all, if a teenager isn’t happy they will not achieve academically. In 2020 we formalised our approach by launching our ‘Thrive’ programme to encompass all our mental health, pastoral and well-being initiatives. As well as our clearly defined pastoral care structure and our College Nurse and two School Counsellors, our ‘Thrive’ programme comprises: Anti-bullying ambassadors, peer mentors, themed pastoral weeks and 'Thrive' lessons.
