Wellbeing & Pastoral Care

As the school is smaller than many in London they know each girl individually and pastoral care was deemed in their recent inspection report as 'excellent'. They regularly hold wellbeing talks for both the girls and their parents on issues such as anxiety, eating disorders, screen time and health and fitness. They have an entire wellbeing week each year which is dedicated to just that.

Advice For Parents

Please can parents get in touch when their daughter is in Year 4 and arrange a summer tour and then again in the autumn of her being in Year 5.

Notable Points

They have a full time SENCO and learning support teacher, and other part time staff including an additional learning support teacher, a speech and language therapist, school counsellor, educational psychiatrist and occupational therapist.

Leavers' Attainment

In 2021 82% of girls received A* to B grades and 51% received A* to A with 95% of them going off to their first choice university.

Leavers' Destinations

Their girls go on to a range of university destinations which are listed on their sixth form page and these include some of the top universities in UK including Durham, Kings College London, Bath, Imperial College London, St Andrews and Exeter. The majority of girls receive offers from their first choice universities.

Sports

Their sports facilities are state of the art down at the Millennium Stadium in Battersea Park with a 5 lane running track, tennis and netball courts. Their running club takes place around the Serpentine in Hyde Park, they row at Fulham Reach and also offer a climbing club.

Art

They have both a beautiful art studio and a textiles studio. London's best art galleries such as the Saatchi Gallery and the V&A are a stones throw away which means they can take the girls out of school to enhance their curriculum. They hold life drawing lessons each week for girls in Year 11 upwards and hold an annual art exhibition to exhibit the best of their girls work for GCSE and A level.

Drama

They have a dedicated drama studio with lighting and each girl has a drama lesson each week up to the end of Year 9. They offer both GCSEs and A Levels in drama and also LAMDA during and after school. They have 2 plays a year with one tending to be a musical and the other a dramatic production. All girls are encouraged to take part in these events and they are often held off site at a local professional theatre.

Music

Music plays a large part in school life at More House with all girls in Years 7 to 9 being in the school choir and many girls in Year 10 and above being part of the senior chamber choir. They have an orchestra, ukulele club and over 30% of their girls play at least one musical instrument and have peripatetic lessons.

Dance

Dakoda Dance Academy is run in their school hall after the school day has finished and on weekends which many of girls attend.
