Ludgrove is an independent school for boys aged 13-18, offering fortnightly boarding. Ludgrove was founded in 1892 by Arthur Dunn, whose favourite saying became, and remains, the school motto: “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with all thy might” (Ecclesiastes 9:10).

Originally located in Cockfosters, North London, Ludgrove now resides upon 130 acres in rural Berkshire. The school’s campus facilitates plenty of sports, with organised games 5 times a week. Sports facilities include a 9-hole golf course, 2 Eton fives courts, a 20m swimming pool, Croquet lawn, adventure playground and 6 tennis courts, to name but a few. In the 2020/2021 academic year, Ludgrove opened their new £2.5million state-of-the-art Exploration Centre, which houses the Art and Pottery studios and CDT (Craft, Design, and Technology) workshop.

Ludgrove asserts their aim “to realise the highest academic expectations for all the boys within a disciplined and well-structured system of proven learning techniques.” Ludgrove prepares boys for Common Entrance in Year 7 with a Study Skills workshop. A strong cohort progresses to Eton each year, with other popular schools being Harrow, Radley, Marlborough and Stowe – among further prestigious British senior schools.
