Lancing College is an independent co-educational school for both Day and Boarding students aged 13-18. The school identifies itself as a Christian foundation in the Anglican tradition, with corresponding values that underpin the community, and consolidated by the beautiful Chapel. The site of Lancing College and the wider estate comprises 550 acres of land in the South Downs National Park.

There are ten Houses comprising Lancing College, seven of which are boarding houses. Three of the houses accommodate the girls, and the other four, the boys. Lancing is notable for its working farm, Lancing College Farm Project, comprising 70 acres within the College Estate. The farm provides conservation and animal welfare, and is useful for education in subjects such as Biology, Geography and Business Studies. It is part of the co-curricular programme, and welcomes any student who is interested.

The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) are both popular enrichment programmes at the school. Other societies include school debating, the school’s online journal writing and talks from visiting speakers. There is a wide range of sports offered to pupils, catering to both recreational and more skilled sports abilities. Football, Hockey, Netball, Tennis and Cricket are the most popular, though Lancing also offers niche sports such as Sailing, Squash, Basketball, Riding (in the School’s own riding centre) and Fencing, among many others. The music offered at Lancing College is indeed extensive, and very attractive to the students here. Around 40 concerts are performed annually, showcasing the results of the School’s orchestras, choirs, a capella club, Big Band, rock music workshops and many more opportunities offered to Lancing College students.
