King Edward’s School Bath is an independent co-educational day school taking children from ages 3 to 18. It grew out of the original grammar school founded by the monks of Bath Priory which was closed with the dissolution of the monasteries. Edward V1th set up the school we have now in 1552 with funding designed “to continue for ever”.

Now there is a Pre-Prep and Nursery at Weston Lane and Junior and Senior Schools at North Road. Children are admitted to Nursery through to Year 2 following a meeting with the head and a taster play or day session before the parent pays a fee and completes the admission form. For older children parents are advised to contact the admissions  team to check out availability of places.  Means tested bursaries are available at entry to Year 7 and Year 12. About 20% of pupils in the senior school are on bursaries.

The school welcomes talented children and plans to develop adventurous minds alongside sound moral and spiritual values and aims for academic excellence. It achieves good  A Level and GCSE results with many  of the pupils going on to a wide range of universities.
