Kent College, Canterbury was founded in 1885 by Wesleyan Methodists as a school for boys. Today, Kent College is known as an independent, co-educational boarding school, ‘deeply rooted in the Christian Methodist tradition that welcomes all pupils of every faith and none’.

There are three boys’ houses and two girls’ houses comprising the boarding facilities of Kent College Canterbury, all of which have live-in House Parents, who are aided by a team of Assistant House Parents, House Managers and Resident Tutors. Full, weekly and occasional (flexi) boarding is available. There are over 40 countries represented by the international students in the school, comprising the majority of the two-thirds of students who board.

Sports at Kent College Canterbury range from the major team sports of popular hockey and cricket, to archery and riding. The School boasts their own riding school and arena, located on ‘Moat Farm’, the school’s 50 acre fully working farm, thus also facilitating the KC Young Farmers’ Club.

For their Sixth-Form students, Kent College, Canterbury, offers both A-Level and International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes. Preceding this, GCSEs and/or the Pre-IB course are available for students in Year 11. Kent College Leavers most commonly attend universities such as Exeter, Edinburgh, and Durham, with a few each year achieving admission into Oxbridge.
