Adjacent to Regent’s Park, and comprising one of the two Girls’ Schools founded by the Reverend Canon Francis Holland in 1878, is Francis Holland School Regent’s Park. It is an independent day school for girls aged 11-18. Its core values are Knowledge, Compassion, Spirit, and Perseverance which, as Headmistress Katharine Woodcock asserts, ‘underpin the ethos of the School, enabling the girls to flourish in an ambitious and supportive educational environment.’ It has an Anglican tradition, but welcomes pupils from all cultures and traditions.

A-Level Results achieved 90% of all papers being graded at A*, A or B. GCSE results showed 60% receiving Grade A* (9-8), and 86% achieving Grades of A* – A. The 2022 ISI Inspection Report affirms this, as ‘Inspectors agree that the school balances academic success with well-being very effectively so that pupils can be successful, but also happy.’’ Many of the school’s students have SEND, and thus receive additional specialist help, referred to as ‘learning enhancement’. Girls are supported by a three-strong team, typically in a one-to-one meeting for needs such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and ADHD.

Francis Holland is academically selective, and places are competitive. Registration for 11+ entry is recommended as being completed early, and prospective students must then complete the London 11+ Consortium Assessment, along with an interview and reference from the student’s current Head. For Sixth Form applicants, entry comprises entrance exam papers in their proposed A-Level Subjects and an interview, and similarly necessitates a reference from their current Head. Bursaries are available for students, and typically offered at Year 7 and on entry to Sixth Form. There are Scholarships offered for both Year 7 and Sixth Form in Academics, Music, and Art, and a Sports scholarship is available for Sixth Form.

Sports Facilities include a pool, gymnasium, fitness suite, playground and School Hall, with both Regent’s Park and Paddington Recreation Centre located nearby for any off-site sporting activities. Drama comprises one of the Creative Arts at Francis Holland, with a major school production each year alongside a junior play. There is an Art Department in which exhibitions are displayed, and a Music Department for the school, and the two-thirds of the girls who partake in instrumental or singing lessons.
