Fidelis College is the leading co-educational independent school with a Catholic ethos in South London, educating pupils from Prep through to Sixth Form. They combine strong academic ambition with character formation, working closely with families – whom they recognise as the primary educators of their children – to help every pupil grow in confidence, virtue and responsibility.

Notable Academic Facilities

Their modern classrooms and subject-specific teaching spaces create an environment where pupils can focus, collaborate and think independently. Students benefit from a dedicated Study Centre and library, interactive whiteboards and spacious classrooms designed to support discussion and independent study.

Academic learning is further enhanced by six state-of-the-art science laboratories and a fully equipped DT workshop and Food Technology kitchen, providing outstanding facilities for practical, experimental and hands-on learning.

They also offer Polish as a language.

Wellbeing & Pastoral Care

Pastoral care at Fidelis College is built on a personalised 1:1 tutorial system, where each pupil is supported by a dedicated tutor who meets with them regularly to guide both their academic progress and personal development. Character formation is central to school life through their Virtues Programme, which encourages pupils to grow in habits of responsibility, courage and service. They work in close partnership with parents, recognising them as the primary educators of their children, and maintain open dialogue to support each child’s growth. This is led and coordinated by their Head of Ethos, ensuring that the school’s Catholic values shape daily life and the formation of every pupil.

SEN Information

Their SEND provision is led by two full-time specialist SENCOs, who work closely with teachers, pupils and families to ensure that every child receives the support they need to thrive. At Fidelis College they believe in educating the whole person, helping each pupil grow academically, personally and in character. Through small classes, personalised support and their strong tutorial system, they aim to bring out the best in every individual so they can develop their strengths and become confident, virtuous members of society.

Typical Child

There is no single “type” of Fidelis pupil. Their students are curious, kind, and willing to grow — whether they arrive confident and outgoing or quieter and still finding their voice. What matters most is a readiness to engage, to try, and to develop both character and intellect within a supportive community.

Highly Regarded For

Fidelis College is highly regarded for its strong academic standards, complemented with a clear focus on character formation and personal development. Through their close partnership with parents, structured virtues programme and individual mentoring, they help pupils grow not only in knowledge and achievement, but also in responsibility, confidence and a spirit of service to others.

Notable Points

Their pupils understand that they have a responsibility to care for one another and to contribute positively to the community around them. They challenge the most able to pursue excellence not simply for personal success, but to place their talents at the joyful service of others. In this way, they aim to form strong characters who strive for academic excellence while growing in generosity, leadership and a sense of responsibility towards society.

Sports

Sport and physical education are a key part of school life, supported by excellent indoor and outdoor facilities and specialist coaching. Their aim is to develop confident, active pupils and foster a lifelong enjoyment of sport and exercise through an extensive curriculum and Games time, and a wide selection of clubs.

On-site facilities include rugby and football pitches, netball and basketball courts, and a 3G all-weather astro pitch, enabling training and fixtures throughout the year. Their large multi-purpose sports hall supports a range of activities, including indoor cricket with specialist nets, while swimming takes place at a nearby pool and rock-climbing takes place at a nearby centre.

Students also benefit from access to a school gym, where daily circuit training sessions help build strength, fitness and discipline. Together, these facilities encourage participation, teamwork and healthy competition across the school.

Art

Students work in two dedicated art studios, equipped for a wide range of media and techniques. Alongside curriculum lessons, pupils can take part in creative opportunities such as sewing workshops, documentary-filming clubs and other art-based extracurricular activities that encourage them to explore new skills and develop their individual artistic voice.

Drama

Drama at Fidelis is centred around The Cube, their dedicated studio. This flexible performance space features a stage, professional lighting and sound systems, and configurable walls that allow the room to be adapted for rehearsals, workshops and performances. Pupils use The Cube for curriculum lessons, devising work and rehearsals, before showcasing their productions in their fully equipped Performance Hall.

Beyond lessons, pupils can take part in activities such as Musical Theatre and the Verse Speaking Competition, while two in-house LAMDA teachers offer individual tuition in performance and public speaking, helping pupils grow in confidence on and off the stage.

Music

Pupils benefit from a fully equipped music suite with iMacs for composition and music technology, as well as excellent performance facilities across the school including many practice rooms available throughout the day.

Students can take advantage of individual instrumental and vocal tuition, supported by specialist teachers, and have regular opportunities to perform. The department is home to two grand pianos and a wide range of instruments, supporting both solo practice and ensemble work.

Music is a vibrant part of school life, with regular lunchtime concerts giving pupils the chance to perform in a supportive environment. Their ensembles include a Gospel Choir and Chamber Choir, alongside a range of instrumental groups. School-wide events such as the Battle of the Bands and Young Musician of the Year Heats allow musicians of all levels to develop their skills, confidence and love of music.

Dance

Dance at Fidelis takes place in The Cube, their dedicated drama and dance studio. The space is designed for movement and performance, with a sprung floor, professional lighting and sound systems, and flexible walls that allow the room to be adapted for rehearsals, workshops and showcases. Pupils develop technique, creativity and confidence through curriculum lessons and extracurricular dance clubs led by specialist teachers, with regular opportunities to perform in school productions and events.
