Earlscliffe is a unique, small fifth-form and sixth-form boarding school with a family atmosphere, offering a highly-personalised education for international students. With small class sizes, intensive teaching and our weekly testing system (TRaC™), we ensure that each student’s academic potential is maximized. We offer various courses throughout the academic year, in a wide variety of subjects, as well as short courses in the Easter and Summer holidays. Earlscliffe is a friendly, traditional boarding school based in Folkestone on the Kent coast – the school is just a few minutes’ walk from the beach, yet only 53 minutes from central London! Our accommodation is excellent with spacious single and twin rooms – all with private bathrooms, comfortable common rooms and well-equipped classrooms. With just 120 students and over 30 different nationalities, we offer a truly enriching international environment for our students.

Notable Academic Facilities

We have brand-new science labs and extensive equipment. In our historic buildings we have a wonderful auditorium and dining hall, and fantastic food. We have excellent boarding facilities (all rooms are light, bright, spacious and ensuite: either single or twin).

Wellbeing & Pastoral Care

Our student wellbeing provision and pastoral care are second to none.

Advice For Parents

Ideally, one year before start date, but we can also consider last-minute applications and applications from students wishing to start here (or change school) mid-year or mid-term.

Typical Child

We have the skills and experience to support international students of all abilities and from all countries. However we also accept UK students - all students will thrive here due to our small class sizes, individual attention, and small school size which allows us to support every student very well and ensure they achieve their potential (and more!)

Financial Assistance

Selected students can apply for an academic scholarship.
