Long-term SEND support for child living between London and Jeddah

Background

A Saudi boy with mild autism and significant processing delay could not cope at school; the family felt education had stalled and confidence had fallen away.

SLT’s Approach

Two tutors established a long-term adaptive programme across London and Jeddah. Learning was made vivid through real-world experiences in each city, keeping the student engaged and happy. Strategy and progression were supported in conjunction with a Harley Street SPLD specialist, ensuring consistency and clinically informed methods.

Results

In under 12 months the student improved by at least two grades across subjects, regained confidence, secured a competitive sixth-form placement and returned to boarding settled and thriving. Over time, confidence and capability grew to the point the student could access mainstream education. He later entered a London senior school and graduated with multiple GCSEs and a BTEC.

  • Can we provide a programme like this for your family?

Yes. Most of our programmes begin with a thoughtful discussion about what you need right now, what you want to achieve long term, and what success looks like for your child. We then propose a structure, a timetable, an estimated budget and realistic outcomes - and we refine it with you before anything begins.

  • What education systems can we provide tuition for?

Tutors are proficient in a wide range of educational systems and curricula, including the British, American, IB, and other international programmes. We tailor our tutoring to align with your child's specific educational needs and goals.

  • Do we work alongside schools and existing teachers?

Yes, we can run fully aligned with the school where helpful. Some programmes run independently; others are closely aligned with a school’s curriculum, set texts and coursework - particularly where a return to school is planned. We are used to operating in a joined-up way with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.

  • Can we combine cultural experiences with curriculum objectives?

Absolutely. Home schooling is uniquely well suited to “real-world” learning. Theatre, galleries, historic sites and local culture can be integrated into English, history, geography, languages and even science — making learning more memorable and often more enjoyable, without sacrificing rigour.

  • How do we keep learning consistent during frequent travel?

We protect consistency through careful planning. Tutors map the curriculum in advance, maintain a predictable rhythm of sessions, and build in flexibility for travel changes. When plans shift, we adjust the timetable without losing momentum.

  • Can we coordinate specialist input (OT, Education Psychologist Reports etc.)?

Yes. We frequently work alongside existing professionals and incorporate recommendations into teaching plans. Where useful, we can also recommend additional specialists - for example occupational therapists, SPLD specialists, or educational psychologists - and help ensure everyone is working cohesively rather than in silos.

  • Can we help you find a new school for after home school is finished?

Yes, we offer comprehensive school and university placement services. Our experienced consultants guide families through the application process, ensuring the best possible educational pathways for your child. We have 15 years’ experience placing international students in British schools and universities and have also completed school and university placements in the Middle East, the US and Europe.
