Background
We were asked to provide an exam preparation tutor for the 11 Plus for English schools for a bright but shy boy, who disliked reading and writing.
Results
We introduced three tutors to live with the student and his mother in Ankara, Turkey. Using a combination of role-play exercises and academic work, the tutors encouraged the student to work through his fear of reading and writing and to allow his inner thoughts and feelings to come out in his work. Tuition continued in London when the family came over for holidays. Ultimately, the boy secured a place at a competitive prep school in London.
