A family in Tehran approached us with two young boys who were preparing to enter Years 3 and 5 in the UK. The parents were planning a move to London and wanted guidance on securing places at a leading prep school in North London. Alongside the admissions support, they asked for English tuition, verbal and non-verbal reasoning preparation.

Our Approach:

We began by carrying out full academic assessments for both boys, which showed that they were around two years behind the expected level for their age in Dubai. The younger child, in particular, had very limited spoken English. While the family were still in Tehran, our tutors delivered online English language lessons, focusing on reading, writing, comprehension, and conversation. We also helped the boys get more familiar with UK classroom expectations and routines so that they would feel comfortable when they arrived. Over several months, we supported them through a series of applications, entrance exams, and interviews. The family’s views on schools evolved frequently based on feedback from relatives in Dubai who attended school visits on their behalf. We managed communications between the family and each school carefully, ensuring that relationships were maintained and no bridges were burned.

We organised online interviews, virtual open days, and assessments, while taking care of all the paperwork and admissions deadlines.

The boys were offered places at their first-choice school in Dubai. However, after much discussion, the family decided to remain in Tehran!
