(SEN) - Dyspraxia Tuition
Simply Learning Tuition provides tutors to cover all of the main Special Educational Needs; including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism. We also provide tutors for children who have ADD, ADHD and speech and language processing difficulties.
We can work alongside your school or therapist and our tutors will be able to implement their professional guidelines. Several of our tutors have specialist qualifications (OCR Dyslexia) but the majority have several years’ experience working with children suffering from Dyscalculia and other SEN’s.
In many cases, we will take children who have been excluded from their main school (usually because they were unable to access the curriculum) and home school them for a period of time, until a more suitable school can be found. We often refer clients to specialist schools and teaching centres such as Fairley House and Abingdon House, with which we have close links.
We'd be delighted to answer your questions on 0207 350 1981, or you can fill in our enquiry form and we will contact you.
CASE STUDY - LEO (7 yrs)
Leo's family asked us to provide homeschooling. Leo was two years behing his peers in terms of literacy. He has suspected mild Aspergers and needed help with boundary setting and consequence. Leo also had a problem discriminating sound: he could hear normally but found it difficult to discriminate between different sounds, making blending and rhyming and phonological awareness very difficult. Our tutor worked with him each weekday morning to bring him up to the level at which he could rejoin school.
"Leo completed two "test days" at Fairley House yesterday. He loved the school and fortunately the feeling was mutual. We had a meeting with the headmistress yesterday afternoon and Leo will start there after half-term. It would of course be lovely to stay in touch as Leo may well need more help in the future, but while he is at Fairley House this seems unnecessary as the teaching there is already tailor made and he is lucky enough to be in a class of 5 pupils. Thank you so very much to both of you for all your hard work and expert help! Many, many thanks!"
