All of our expert tutors are passionate about their subjects and they have the ability to communicate this on a child's level. Young tutors generally give the best results because they are easier for the child to bond with: when praise comes from a 'cool' tutor the child's eyes light up. Our tutors represent an immensely valuable resource. All are bright, young, confident and supremely qualified - most with a degree or postgraduate degree in their subject. Several are teachers or specialists in their field. Above all they have the ability to teach in a way that is inspiring and creative and adapts to the needs of each individual child. They are trained to search out the problems and start correcting them fast. The fact that they have recently felt the pressures of their own exams gives them the humility and empathy that is so often missing with school masters who have been entrenched in their positions for many years.
Our tutors have access to ongoing training, and each tutor receives a full briefing before meeting the child. Time and resources are precious and the tutors work quickly. After their initial introduction they report back to us and, if the relationship is working, they continue. Results are as important to us as they are to the child and his parents. All our tutors keep a detailed record of what has been covered in each tutorial. This is sent to the parent at the end of each month.
We receive many applications but only select tutors who demonstrate that they really want to inspire others to learn. Each tutor undergoes an in-depth interview and we check academic, personal and employment references. We ask for a recent Enhanced CRB disclosure and also ensure that the tutor has studied our Child Protection Policy. All our tutors are paid using a system that is fully HMRC compliant so the parent has no involvement in the tutor's income tax or National Insurance. Tutors are insured and receive full statutory benefits.
